Finley
This is Finley....a retired show bunny that was then used as a breeding buck until his body collapsed on him. He is part of a group of a 16 rabbit rescue that originated in New York. Finley is now living with two of his daughters, Donna and Violet. He was in tremendous pain when rescued. He had a large jaw abscess that had eaten a hole in his jaw. The doctor he was originally seen by in NY told the people just to keep picking at the injury...which was agony for this bunny. Normal procedure would have been surgery except Finley's overall condition made surgery extremely risky. We worked on his pain and developed a drug protocol that healed the abscess without the stress of surgery. Finley is a very quiet rabbit since he is a senior and prefers to spend his day lounging while watching his daughters play. Due to his age, he seems to have some difficulty in his hips...most likely the early signs of arthritis. He has a very sophisticated look with his rigid "show rabbit" stance and those piercing blue eyes. He has been granted sanctuary.
