Hope

This is Hope..our English Angora.  She comes to us from Cabarrus County Animal Shelter in Concord, NC.  She has been terribly neglected.  She came in with severe ear mites, a nasty upper respiratory infection, terribly matted fur and was emaciated.  We treated the mites and infections.  She has gained some weight.  We had to sedate her to cut all the matted fur from her body.  She also has maloccluded incisors.  If those teeth are too long, she can't eat.  So we have to trim her teeth every week or so.  Angora rabbits are very high maintenance rabbits that require frequent brushing.  With that, and her ongoing medical issues, she has been granted sanctuary.  She also had some trust issues coming in but she is learning that she is safe and now looks forward to some TLC.
