Miracle

This is one special little rabbit.  She had a really good home...we can tell by the way she acts.  But in a cruel turn of events, she lost nearly everything. 

She was riding tucked away in her travel carrier when her family's car was involved in a terrible collision.  Her carrier was crushed.  The rescue people didn't know there was a rabbit inside.  She was seriously injured and her back was broken.  She was paralyzed.  To make matters even worse, none of her human family survived the accident...a true tragedy. 

She was taken to a rabbit savvy vet in Richmond, VA where they pulled her through. Her prognosis to hop again was not good as she had no movement of her hind quarters at all.  She was transferred to Leo the Lop Rabbit Rescue near Richmond and then was sent here. 

She is so full of life and spirit that we wanted to give her every opportunity for recovery.  Near the end of September 2005...several months after suffering this horrible fate...she made her first full speed run and binky since her accident.  It was very scary...but so wonderful. 

While she still has issues and will never be 100%, her love of life makes up for it and she can run and jump with the best of them.  She does stumble sometimes...but she gets right back up and goes at it again.  Her survival and recovery is nothing short of a miracle...hence her name, Miracle.
