Scoots
This is Scoots. She comes from Kentucky. She has some major issues but is such a wonderful bunny and loves attention. She is basically female but does exhibit some male characteristics. She has some major issues due to genetics. Her rear legs are splayed...they stick out at an odd angle. Her hips are dislocated due to deformities in the sockets at the hips. She has spinal issues and major issues with her digestive tract. She has chronic problems with her digestive systems that requires aggressive intervention. Despite her issues, she is always ready to accept a head rub. She does require some unusual husbandry and because of that, has been granted sanctuary. She has adapted remarkably well to her disabilities and can move around easily. She has developed very powerful front legs and shoulders that take her where she wants to go. We expect her life to be shorter than normal. There is no medical procedure that can fix her legs and hips. Surgery is possible on the digestive system but the procedure would be radical and carries a very high risk of failure. In discussions with the family that had Scoots, we have decided that treatment should be to make her as comfortable as possible for as long as possible. We do this with the realization that some of the treatments we are using to make her comfortable now will come with a price later. But our feeling is that we should provide her the best life possible for as long as we can. She would appreciate your sponsorship to help with the costs of her on-going treatments.
